I grew up in Brooklyn and found my way West to graduate school at the University of Arizona. There I was introduced to the Indians of the Southwest and their crafts. I've been intrigued ever since.

After moving to San Diego, I became involved with creating and selling crafts, and finally found my art-- "Natruatl Basketry" - in Misti Washington's class in the fall of 1976. There I learned the techniques used by basket weavers from Appalachia to the Southwest. In the summer of 1983, I studied with a Papago basket weaver, Frances Manuel, and now incorporate many of her techniques in my pine needle baskets.

Besides making and selling baskets, I've also taught classes privately and through the University of California at San Diego. My baskets have been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout the United States and Canada. Some baskects were recognized with ribbons and awards.
